In part two of In Cold Blood, Capote gives hints as to what is going to happen next. Perry says that he knows when something bad is going to happen before it happens. He tells Dick that he can't believe they got away with it and thinks that the police are tricking them because he can feel it. Capote repeats this throughout part two of his book to give you a hint of what will happen next but not give it away entirely. He uses just enough information to keep you from knowing what exactly will happen next. He also mentions that Perry annoys Dick about thinking that they will get caught or maybe the police have more clues than they are saying they have. These are all examples of the suspense that Capote is using to make his book more interesting.
